SUMMARY:
Published by DC Comics for February 2006, the issue is entitled “Honor Among Thieves, Part 2.” The Injustice Society (The Wizard; Tigress; Icicle; Thinker; Rag Doll; Solomon Grundy; & The Gentleman Ghost) devise an underground means to invade JSA Headquarters. As the JSA fruitlessly investigate suspected Injustice Society-related crimes across the U.S., the team is left dangerously short-handed.
It’s up to Stargirl; Wildcat; Jakeem Thunder; and Ma Hunkel to thwart the Injustice Society’s robbery of the ‘Cosmic Key’ from a heavily-secured JSA vault. In debt to Johnny Sorrow, the Wizard’s squad intend to use the swiped Key to free Sorrow from an astral prison. A rival villainous society’s double-crossing scheme comes to light.
REVIEW:
Writer Jen Van Meter devises a neat (though easily forgettable) storyline where the Injustice Society’s caper gets some worthy screen time. Capably supported by terrific artwork, it’s a solid, relatively kid-friendly read.
Note: Although it’s a fantastic cover, the battle royale doesn’t accurately reflect the issue’s fight sequence.
